Tourism Business Survey

One of the ways that Cumbria Tourism monitors performance of the wide range of businesses that make up the tourism sector in Cumbria is through research. This includes a biannual telephone survey with 500 businesses.

In addition to retrospective assessment of business performance, the survey also asks about prospects for the foreseeable future, and covers topical issues.

If you would like to access copies of the survey reports please click on the research request link below. If you would like information from previous years please contact the research department.

What are the benefits?

These surveys enable Cumbria Tourism to report quickly and accurately on the state of the tourism industry in the county. The survey has been carried out for a number of years and so provides continuous trend data to monitor changes over time.

It is a crucial opportunity for dialogue with tourism businesses, allowing us to explore issues relevant to the development of the tourism industry - such as the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, business needs (which can be used as evidence to support funding applications), or employment and skills development issues.
