Hotel crime incidents

Yorkshire Tourist Board have alerted us to several serious incidents involving 2 con men and three of their region's hotels. Please read the following and be extra vigilant.

Quote from Hotel General Manager, Leeds area

"Just had a report from meeting organiser that he was assisted by 2 men to his room on Tues- white shirts/ties etc stating that they were hotel security men - they kindly offered to prop the door open for our guest who had taken his jacket off, and whilst out of the room  robbed him of credit cards etc, Our guest has just found out."

Quote from Hotel in the Harrogate area

"Please be aware there are 2 con men trying to talk their way through reception into housekeeping.  They visited us on Monday.  They distract a member of staff, steal a master key and empty departments.  We were lucky, the key they took only gave them access to housekeeping, however, we are aware that (third hotel name) in Harrogate has been severely hit".

The two opportunist thieves appear to be preying on larger hotels and their guests.  One is aged between 35 and 40 yrs with blonde hair and the other is between 40 and 45 yrs with dark hair. The younger of the two men was less confident than his older accomplice. They spoke with middle England type accents.
