The Golakes website is the primary tourism portal for Cumbria - The Lake District and was re-developed on December 2007. Golakes showcases information on where to stay, activities, events, food and drink, gardens, local transport details, but to name a few. Businesses in the area are given the opportunity to advertise on the website under the most appropriate section for the nature of their business. Advertising is renewed on an annual basis and with advertising costs varying depending on the level of entry chosen.

The site provides information on outdoor events, downloadable walks and cycle routes, details of activity providers and more. There is also an outdoor guide to support this campaign.
