International visitors make up 9-10% of all visitors to the county. Cumbria Tourism works in close partnership with the England's North Country marketing consortium and VisitBritain to promote Cumbria and the Lake District overseas. A broad range of consumer and trade marketing and PR activity is undertaken including the production and distribution of the England's North Country travel guide, the official overseas guide to the North of England.

If you are looking to promote your business overseas then the England's North Country guide is the ideal channel. Over 200,000 copies are produced in English, German and Dutch and distributed worldwide via VisitBritain offices and England's North Country campaigns. The guide is also produced in digital format for online marketing.
