Sense of Place
Sense of Place (SoP) is a campaign designed to provide the visitor with interesting information about Cumbria and the Lake District, through the golakes website (and occasionally in printed format also). The visitor can also use this information to compile their own travel itineraries.
Each SoP goes into great depth on the chosen location and includes: history (how that place became what it is today), heritage (including heritage tourism products), arts & culture (including arts & cultural tourism businesses), natural environment (views, natural reserves, natural features, woodland, flora & fauna), oddities (interesting and quirky facts), activities (walks, bike rides, activity providers), events, transport details (including access by public transport), local facilities (public toilets, parking, post offices etc) and further information (TICs, websites etc).
Members are encouraged to use this information for their own marketing materials. If you send out regular emails to your customer database or are looking to include further information on your website or in your printed literature, then the Sense of Place content is a great place to start. It might even provide you with ideas for a new campaign. view Sense of Place content
