Business Networking
Running a business can be quite isolating, so business networks are a great way to share knowledge, discuss common issues and keep abreast of industry trends.
There are several opportunities to meet and share information with like minded businesses through Cumbria Tourism.
Commercial Members' Meetings
On a quartely basis members of Cumbria Tourism are invited to Commercial Members' Meetings to network with like-minded businesses, listen to inspirational speakers and to be updated on the work of Cumbria Tourism from our Chief Executive, Ian Stephens. There is also an opportunity for members to take a stand at the meetings to promote their business.

Hoteliers Network
The most recent Cumbria Hoteliers' Network meeting was held at North Lakes Hotel, Penrith in September.
The Network meeting is an opportunity for hotel managers and directors to meet, share views and discuss current issues. The new National Skills Academy for Hospitality also discussed how their programmes for chefs, managers and customer service staff could benefit and support employers.
Piers Mortimer from Corney and Barrow sponsored the wine for the event, and gave a brief explanation of his products during lunch.

South Lakes HR Network
The South Lakes HR Network shares information and best practice ideas around a variety of topics, with a focus on HR, employment law and training. The network meets every three months and addresses the issues that are of particular interest and relevance to members.
There is no financial cost to the members involved, but they do take turns to host the network meetings. Meetings last a maximum of two hours and are attended by HR and operational managers from small and medium sized businesses.
The meetings are informal and informative and guest speakers are often invited to inform the group about current initiatives that may interest or support them.
